OK, true confessions time. My wife wants a Midget. The car, I mean.
There's a nice-looking green rubber-bumper (yuck) version on the west side of
S. Oneida Street, half way down to Hwy 114. No idea of the price, but it has
caught her eye.
I suggested to her that, if she were to choose a Spitfire, I'd have bits and
pieces available at a moment's notice and would know how to fix pretty much
anything on the car. She sortof gave me that "hmmmm" look I see so often.
As in, "hmmmm, something about this smells wrong". As in, "hmmmm, how long
before bits of my car end up in the blue racer...".
But if I can sell her on a Spit, why not a Spit 6? She has always been
unwilling to use a lot of revs with her motors, so a GT6 engine would be a far
better choice for her than a Spit motor. And if a GT6 engine, well, why not a
TR6 mill instead?
I'd better find her another Alfa before I start re-reading that whole FOT
string on the aluminum V8s...
