Maybe Mark needs another project and can make us all some short damper
retainers. I cut the stock fan extension down and used a shorter bolt
and washer.

Charly I eliminated the standoff with no problems. I made short aluminum
piece to replace it and found a shorter bolt. No troubles assocaited
with it
that I know of.
