Actually, to be more accurate, they should take inside to outside
front, say right to left then left to right. Average those. Then
take inside to outside at the rear of the tire as above and average
those measurements. Then average the front and back to eliminate
any variation for toe.

FWIW, I went through the track measurements at impound after the
Runoffs a couple of years ago (I was crewing on the third place car).
Rocky's description is how the SCCA does it - actually they measure
from the outside of one tire to the inside of the other, then do the
reverse and average the two measurements. Since you're an SCCA
racer, Bill, that's what you're going to have to deal with to be legal.
