Sorry I didn't run into you Hugh. I was there with Peyote. Also had a
nice visit with Henry, and Baxter Culver, Greg Solow and Hardy Prentice.
Nice weekend. Peyote did horribly, or perhaps we did. I'm not sure where
the guilt lies. I think that my front suspension is very unsorted and I
need to spend some time making it good again. Either that or I've
forgotten how to drive a race car. I spun six times in the weekend. A few
times at amazingly low speeds. I truly hope its the car because I can fix
that.
I know the rack is not quite right, and the lower arms might be a bit
bent. Bottom line, I finished aboout 16th, behind cars I shouldn't have
been behind. Ah well, another day.
Had a great time though. I just came from the "age and treachery" cooldown
lap party. Ten o'clock and I had a long weekend. Up at five to drive to
the Umpqua river and go fly fishing on the way home. Ciao.
Bill

Went to the Monterey Historics yesterday. Marvelous weather and as
always,
lots of shiny, wonderful racing cars. Saw a nice TR4 that was competing
-
perhaps there's hope for Steve Earle yet :^). Ran into Henry Frye (TR
racer)
in the bleachers; its always great to put a face on a name on the
list(s). I
put some of my photos (taken in the paddock) on the web. If you would
like
to look at them, they are at:
