To answer the question on how I got into spitfires?
I always wanted to race a small bore sports car because anywhere you went
there were lots of cars to complete with. A spriget was considered because
of their popularity however I always want something different. There are no
spit's racing with VARAC so when an old SCCA car as offered to me it was a
deal that I couldn't resist. It was in rough shape but that didn't deter me.
Just cut out the rust and damaged pieces and weld in new. With help from
Russ Moore I restored the car over a 2-1/2 year period. The car needs lots
of fine tuning but the basics are there now.
A week ago the car ran rough but Russ was true to his word. Get it to
Mosport and we'll get it to run. I had installed a pair of su,s with the
wrong parts in them. The correct parts were not available at the track so I
had to drive with a mid range roughness. I want to thank Russ Moore, Donn
Sopp, Jeff Govert and the Friends Of Triumph for help and encouragement in
my
endeavor. A special thanks to Tom Strange who helped me out with a
replacement water pump at the track.
Hooked on Triumphs.
