Yeah, they're pretty cool, I got a Scalectric Williams BMW F1 set from a
charity auction and a my wife bought a second set so we could build bigger
layouts. the detail is good, but If you think they remotely resemble the
higher end diecasts then you're simply looking at the wrong ones. Diecasts
in the $200 range now approach the level of handbuilt models that sell for
thousands. You could look a closeup photo of the GT40 I got a few months
ago and mistake it for the real thing. The carbs look real. The fire
extinguisher looks real. The seats and belts and dash look real.
I've got the Radical at the track and all ready for tomorrow. Should be a
fun day if it doesn't rain too much. I don't mind driving Peyote in the
rain, but the Radical isn't much fun in the wet--too much tiptoeing
around. You simply can't drive it even reasonably fast, no matter how good
your car control is.

clappers" and leak little more than electrons.
