I've bought a neat dual EGT gauge from Westach for my TR3. They say to
install the probes on the leanest cylinders, so I'm trying to figure out
which ones run leaner. The firing order is 1-3-4-2, so 1 fires right
after 2 and 4 fires right after 3. With a 300 degree cam, the intakes
valves will be open simulataneously for 120 degrees, i.e. the first 120
degrees of opening for #1 and the last 120 degrees of opening for #2.
I'm thinking that more filling would normally take place during the
later part of the opening than the earlier part. This is all well and
good, but what will this do to AFR? The answer must be here somewhere.
I'm thinking 1 and 4 will run leaner, but the logic is fuzzy. Help please.
