Wheels

I'm looking at some new wheels for my TR6 and the fellow I'm talking to
describes these wheels as 4x4.5 pattern also known as 4x114.3. He has 2-15x6's
that have an offset of 24 and 2-15x7's that have an offset of 38.
Does anyone know what this means?  The fellow that has them doesn't seem to
know much about them and I would like to see if they'll fit my car.  I'm
thinking they might be too wide for my vintage classification anyway.
