HI FOT !
thanks for the nomination to your group, to give you a little more background
on myself and my Triumph projekt:
my name is Christian Jensen (31) i live in Denmark, and is very new at racing,
i4m going to race classic racing for the 1. time this year, i have been
building/restoring a spitfire 684 this winter, it4s a "low" (ha-ha) cost
projekt and i have no trailer etc. so it has to have licens plates on.
The car has a 1300 engine that i have made is with : large TT valves, flowed
head, HS4 caburators, fast road cam, weight removed from flywheel, con rods
etc. all is ballensed, otherwise stock. gearbox and final drive also stock. it
has electric waterpump, electric fuel pump, electric fan so it can run without
belt ( as long as the batteri last).
it has AVO adjusable shocks 330 lb springs and MK4 swingspring, running with
compomotive minilite and 175/60-13 Yokohama A032
i have only run it for 50 Km when i had my first incident - some of the
flange on the prop shaft broke off and the prop shaft droped in the rear end
at 110 km/t, causing my newly renovated gearbox to crack and bend the main
shaft - total write off. and the propshaft and exhaust was twisted, and a lot
off new dents came in the tunnel. hmmm
so right now i4m fixing a new gearbox and fitting another prop shaft, and hope
to be able to use the (new) exhaust again with a little bend here and there.
this was also causing that i could not get my race licens as the race school
was this weekend, so i have to run some "1.time runners races" this spring.
as i said i4m new at this, so please any advice you can think of is welcome.
p.s. sorry for my bad english, hope you can understand !
Regards
Christian Jensen
