When I raced my TR4 in the early eighties, I happened to be working as a
machinist. I built my bars from stressproof steel as Kas suggested. I used
1.250" on the front and 1.00" on the rear. I also built a panhard rod for
good measure. The links were put on with key stock much like the rear axle
is. I also made the links adjustable so I could tweak the front to rear bias.
I ran the car for several years without ever having to adjust anything. They
are still on the car which I am restoring. Next to the Jack Wheeler engine
rebuild, this was the best thing I ever did on the car. The car feels like
your driving on rails. I wouldn't take them off now for anything.
