Subject: Quick note on welding
The comments on various welders have been interesting. I've got a 110
volt
Craftsman MIG that my lovely bride gave to me for Christmas or a
birthday or
some such, it works, but there are some things I don't like about it.
Not
her fault, of course, I gave her the part number, which shelf it was on
at
the downtown Sears store, etc. before she went to buy my "surprise."
What I DO like, however, is the thought that maybe my welding isn't as
bad
as I thought. I'm sitting and, uh, relaxing in the Fat Chance Reading
Room
with a copy of Grassroots Motorsports, the one with the 'Porsche vs.
Minivan'
cover. And I take a close look at some of the photos in the Ro-Spit
rear
suspension article, paying particular attention to the weld beads on
some
of the brackets. Scrape off that yellow paint, and they look almost as
clean
as some of my work!
