I believe you'll also find the valving was different on some of these. I
don't have information on how different. Perhaps a call to a place like
Apple Hydraulics might shed light on that issue.

Larry,
The TR3 and TR4 (early) will all work for your car. I believe
the later TR4 shock lever arms and all TR4A thru T R6 shock
lever arms are different. The shocks themselves are the
same but the arms are different. I've never tried to remove a
lever arm and don't know how easy it would be.
Hopefully someone can verify the later TR4 issue for you, I
just can't remember off the top of my head.
