A number of us had a similar problem the week before and there was
discussion of it possibly being fuel related. Watkins had this 110 octane
"red juice" they were selling that smelled different than any gas we had in
the past. There were a number of folks with heating and elevated EGT temps
during the vintage weekend, even more engine failures than normal and fuel
was the common factor.
Just a heads up. I'm trying to find a place that will test the fuel and be
able to tell me what the results mean. I do have a sample.
