Normally I would not do such a thing, but I stumbled across this on eBay and
was intrigued. Perhaps some of you on this list are familiar with some of the
cars or people depicted. Perhaps the seller is on this list...or should be?
Anyway, if nothing else it might be nice to contact the seller and get
permission to put some of these photos on the FOT site.

> Item Description:
> Very unique set of vintage Triumph TR4 photos from mostly 1965.
>Unpublished and offered by the original photographer/artist as an Artist's
>Proof, meaning this will probably not be the end result when offered as a
>signed limited edition of 250 prints. There may be some minor changes, such as
>a photo change.
>
> Photos are:
> Top left: Steve Froines, 1965 SCCA D Production National Champion shown on
>the infield section of Daytona International Speedway during practice for the
>event in November. Note the Shelby Mustang GT350 on the banking in the
>background.
>
> Top Right: Jim Cooper (Tulsa) works on Vick Campbell's (Tulsa) Midwest
>Division Champion TR4 at Lake Afton at the Wichita Grand Prix. Snazzy
>overalls. This is the car that drew me into racing and into a TR4 in
>particular. My race TR4 still has the transmission in it that Jim Cooper built
>and I bought back in 1966 or so. My car was also at the race but I had loaned
>the car out.
>
> Mid Left: Vick's engine and Vick's car in his garage. An emmaculate race car.
>
> Mid Right: Steve Froines in practice at the SCCA's American Road Race of
>Champions (ARRC) in 1965 at Daytona, following SFM 5R002 Shelby Mustang GT350,
>the first one ever raced, driven by Chuck Cantwell.
>
> Lower Mid Right: My car, the one I bought after I saw Vick's car at the local
>Triumph dealer's shop where Jim Cooper worked. I raced the car, both as a
>"sponsor" and a driver until 1972. This photo, however, was taken in the 1980s
>at Texas World Speedway. Note that the car was then in E Production, even
>though it was much faster than it ever was in D. The car has been owned by my
>brother since about 1973 and has been completely restored recently and will be
>raced again. That's him waiting on the grid.
>
> Lower Mid Left: The HURST TR4 out of, I believe, Kansas City. The black and
>gold car was very fast and I do not know who the driver is. This photo was
>taken at Mid America Raceway in St. Louis during an SCCA driver's school in
>late 1965, I think, where I was at with my car. I was, however, not driving
>because I wasn't old enough. I had loaned the car to a friend. This is coming
>off the drag strip section.
>
> Bottom: This is kind of neat photo, taken on the weekend of February 14th,
>1965 at Green Valley Raceway near Dallas. The three cars were at the old
>"Polar Prix" and are actually on their cool down lap after a great race.
>
> The only car/driver I can i.d. is the far car which is Vick Campbell of Tulsa
>who went on to run in the Trans Am series and also won A Sedan at the ARRC but
>was disqualified in the end. Of the two other cars,I believe the white car was
>quite fast. This is on the back side of the track near the "hump". This race
>weekend is famous since it was the first ever race for the Shelby GT350
>Mustang. I was there at the race crewing for a friend, automotive/motorcylce
>author Allan Girlder in his Lotus 7.
>
> The group is printed on heavy weight, acid free, glossy paper which measures
>8.5 x 11 inches and the image size is approximately 6.75 x 9. Signed and
>numbered AP by artist/photographer.
>
> This would look great framed and matted and up on a den or office or even
>shop wall. Great for any Triumph TR4 buff. An unusual gift.
>
> As is the case in most instances on this site, the scan does not do complete
>justice to the actual print, although my scans are quite good. Look at my
>seller feedback for comments on print/shipping quality. Remember, these are
>prints from
> photos/negatives that are 35+ years old....
