As someone stated earlier, this setup worked well for me.
When I was racing my TR4 in SCCA, I used a toggle switch mounted under the
gear shift knob for 10 years without any relay, and very few problems. I had
to change the switch out once in awhile, but that's it. I also had a big red
light that came on to tell me when it was in overdrive too.
This was a great setup and I am doing the same thing now as I put my car back
together. I have taken all of the other switches off that were mounted on top
of the gearbox. You drive it just like a splitter on a truck. Not hard to
get used to.
