When I started racing my TR3A I was using Dunlop 5.50 X 15. They wear
like iron but don't stick. I now run Hoosier 5.50 X 15 Vintage TD. They
REALLY
Stick when warmed up. They are great for vintage racing, but not enough
time to warm them up for autocross. I run with SVRA and it is one of the
few tire choices for TR3/4.

Can anyone suggest anything else that is out there and has provided good
performance. I understand that a lot of the 911 Porches have the same
problem. I'm looking for a tire that will mount on either 5 1/2" or 6 "
rims. The Vintage Hoosiers are a 77.6" circumference and a 6 1/2" tread
width. I can probably stand a little size increase, but not a ton.
A second part of the question is which regulating groups require 60
series tires. There seem to be some additional options in the 50 series
tires in the 15" sizes. Are most of the clubs requiring the 60 series?
Thanks,
