Well, so much for autocrossing Killer at the season opener. You may recall I
mentioned a few days ago how there was not much to do to get him ready to
roll for the event on the 10th, things like air up the slicks, check some
bolts, new oil filter and such. So I spend some time in the almost warm
afternoon sun and pull Killer out of the garage, wipe off some of the big
chunks, whip the dipstick out of the block to check the oil and remember how
dark the Redline straight weight race oil looks.
What I don't remember is the oil being so full of shiny little metal specks.
So, Killer won't be racing anywhere until he gets down to the shop and I get
a look inside the motor. Drat. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to suffer
through tomorrow's event behind the wheel of a Caterham. Thanks, Bob.
And this time I promise to check the handbrake *before* my runs!
