Turns out we know a lot about that since we're in it and helped make it. We
directed Alan Jabez (the producer) with his first tape on Land Rovers. His
marketing idea was that brits as well as yanks could find the tapes
interesting, while most brit tapes are pretty dull. We told him to keep
narration to a minimum and have more action, driving shots. Not endless rows
of parked shiny cars. The FOT'ers will like the shots from Mid Ohio,
including the E type spinning out trying to keep up with a TR3!
The tapes really are quite good, and you'll watch them over and over. The
Dorothy Deen stuff is worth it, or the view into Householder's barn. The
Spitfire coverage is good too, plus Renowns and Roadsters. The vintage
commercials are fun, and I think he really does capture the feel of what
we've all been doing for years. It's a good mix of vintage and new footage,
and the narration is pretty good. You also get a long tape for the money.
There is a guy in the US selling the tapes: 1 800 454 8341. We screened it
for TRSC at the last meeting and several folks are ordering one. For a true
Triumph enthusiast it's a must have: 5 stars (even though I'm in it...)
