Friends:
I have been looking for several months for a donor engine for my TR-6
powered TVR. I located a local junkyard queen that has all the bits (Engine,
Tranny and Diff), but the guy wants too much for it (about $500). No, the car
is definitely not restorable. I would still have to figure out what to do with
all that surplus rusted sheet metal.
There is another car in the same yard that is minus the tranny, but it is a
'70 model whereas mine is a 72. since all I need is the short block, is there
any good reason the '70 block won't work to build a racer engine? Did Triumph
make any changes in the bottom end from '70 to '72 that I need to be aware of?
Will my tranny bolt up ok? Can I use my late model head?
