When I was a very young fellow in Iowa my dad and some of his friends used to
duck hunt in Minn. They had an old Model T Ford open car that had a top and
Isinglass side curtains.
After one particularly miserable trip, they stuck the Ford in a swamp. Pretty
soon it began to get dark and the famous Minn. Mosquitos began to appear. Dad
noted that they were sticking their stingers through the plastic like
material in the side curtains.
Being a resourceful Iowa farm boy he quickly found a pair of pliers and began
bending the stingers over inside the windows. It didn't take long for the
bugs to began to lift the Ford and when they spotted some solid ground the
hunters quickly released the mosquitos one by one until they were set down
(gently) on a good road. At least that's what dad told Mom when they got home
late from the hunting trip!
