I had dinner with Keith last weekend. He is a dedicated, long time, TR
racer. I second his nomination

Subject: UK addition to FOT List
Friends of Triumph
We have an addition to the FOT list that I think you will all appreciate.
UK's, Keith Files is the first of six TR Racers that have indicated an
interest in joining us at Mid-Ohio in June of 2002 for the 50 Anniversary of
Triumph Sports Series. There will be more nominations to follow. And
hopefully more TR racers indicating a plan to join us in the US for this 50
Anniversary. (There is a FOT lurking about the UK, ferreting out these
folks...we want them with us now and in 2002)
Please 2nd Keith's nomination as you wish, but more importantly, make him
feel welcome to our group. Please note website: www.classicracecraft.com
for
a couple of TR race pictures, including Keith's.

Bio:
"I first raced a 'borrowed' friends TR2 in 1981 at Goodwood, the home of the
Goodwood Festival of Speed, with loads of enthusiasm but not much success.
This taste of motorsport whetted my appetite so dug out a semi-derelict TR5
from a garden in deepest Norfolk and had it made race ready for the 1986
season. I raced the TR5 for 5 years before retiring it and taking to the
circuits in my first TR6 (a well known car more down to it bright
fluorescent pink and bright yellow colour schemes than anything else). I
used this car for 8 years winning the class championship on a couple of
occasion until I buried it deep into the barriers during a very wet 6 hour
endurance race at Snetterton. From the wreck we rescued the engine and
gearbox and, using a new chassis and bodyshell imported from the States, we
built the current TR6 race car (photo's attached). This car has been built
by John Wood and Paul Dingle of Classic Racecraft (www.classicracecraft.com)
to the modified regulations of the TR Register Championship and is beginning
to realise some of the potential that it has on paper, the first ever race
win may not be that far away. As you can see I race for fun and will only
stop when racing doesn't put a smile on my face.
I have also purchased a Pro Sport LM3000 (photo attached) this year which I
have just started racing, it is completely different from the TR but will
never replace it.(the TR)"
