I'm glad to see that the adhesive stripe held up for you, I was not so lucky
years ago.
Early '70's, 24 hours of Spa-Franchorchamps, Opel Comodore GS/E, yellow with
a wide black stripe, approx 10", over the hood/roof/trunk on the driverside.
Night time, and as usual in Spa, rain/drizzle/fog.
When the car comes in for my stint, I notice the front of the stripe being
loose, so I push it back on the hood, get in the car and I'm off.
A few minutes later on the straight and fastest part of the old track, that
stripe comes off from the front of the hood, peels back, sticks on the
winshield and get stuck in my wipers.
Talking about being nightblind and scared.
Next race we had a painted stripe, and even painted, I wanted it on the
passenger side, call me paranoid :)
