Amici,
As this idea has developed, I have noticed a couple of things. Due to
conflicts with events already planned, most people agree that we need to
wait a few years for the inaugural FOT Festival, and that the event should
be for all British cars. I would now like to be the first to plug their home
state. I think a preseason event would be the ticket, with a post season
event a second choice for me. Texas has decent weather in the early spring,
and the fall, and we are a day or two from most of the country. The tow from
everywhere but the far northeast and northwest is very manageable. There are
rumors of new tracks being built around Dallas, the SCCA uses an old airport
in Corpus, and there is always TWS. As far as sponsoring our own event,
insurance is easy, but what about workers?
And if you'd like a early event in 2001 don't forget, you are all invited
to:
CVAR Driver's School & Vintage Races
Texas World Speedway College Station, Tx.
3 Days, 16/17/18 March, 2001
I understand a handful of FOTer's are planning to attend.
