RE: Flywheels and clutchesStll the problem is not of strength but of the bolt coming loose because of the frequency vibration and stretch. That is why lock tabs work better than Locktite in this application. BUT if the bolt stretches, your dead in the water again. I have looked at flywheels that were really loose on the crank and the bolts were safety wired and all still intact, BUT THEY WERE STICKING OUT OF THE FLYWHEEL about 1/8" because of STRETCH. The bolt stretches, bends, then breaks or even falls out. |
