Dave,
I give your "expert" credit for realizing his limitations.
I hope that the FOT can find a local expert for you.
The factory pinion depth tool gets the gears spot on.
If not, and you trust shipping, I am just south of San Francisco, CA.
I have all of the factory tools, and have built many of these units.

Subject: TR3 diff setup
Okay, I might as well let the cat out of the bag; I broke down and bought a
Salisbury LSD for the TR3!!! Now that I've got all the parts together to
do the whole enchilada, the "expert" I lined up to do the work starts
getting the "shakes" after reading the TR shop manual instructions. The
last thing I want is that new 4.1 gear set turned to toast.
I'm located in Greenville SC. Does anyone know a shop located within a
day's drive that can do it right?
Thanks,
Dave Brackin >>
