Hi,
Today must be the day for folks to "rub salt in the wounds" or something.
I mean this tongue in cheek, of course.
I just got a message from my local SCCA region trying to find out which
members are going to the Solo II Nat's - a large turnout for sure from
our region... then Joe's message.
Hmmm. Maybe I should have planned this year a little better. When I called
for F1 tickets, they were sold out! That was Feb. or March. And telling
the organizers that this event is being held on my 45th birthday didn't
suddenly make _just one more_ ticket appear. Oh well.
I am grateful that I was able to go to Mid-Ohio in June and then to VA in
July... but those two events pretty much used up my available time/money.
Joe - sounds like you're on track to have a great late summer/ early
autumn. Have fun and maybe we'll cross paths at Lime Rock. My fall is
shaping up to be pretty full also, but sadly I'll not be tracking more
than 100 miles or so from my house. At least 'till I figure out how to
get paid by going to races! ;-)
On the plus side, my cars are running great. On the minus side, it looks
like I need to become a lumber jack for a while. I'll provide details if
anyone cares, but suffice to say a scourge seems to be devouring trees in
my yard and I don't have the dinero to hire someone to cut 'em down.
Well, maybe that's a plus. I could always pave the yard!
Later,
rml
