came with a floating axle/hub. (even TR8's) I broke an axle in a MKII
Spitfire at IRP in the late 70's and took a wild ride and broke one at
Savannah in an IRS TR4. Someone made a SCCA approved heavy-duty set up for
Spit/GT6 but I cannot remember who. Anyway I have my axles crack/fatigue
checked every season , but my new car will have something other than
original in it. Alan Taylor
