In keeping with the principles of tireless self promotion and total lack
of humility, let me say that Tony Drews, driving uncle jack's TR4
(actually I'm his Dad, of course) came in fourth Sunday at Blackhawk in
a field of 46 cars. He was behind only an Alfa, a Porsche, and an AH
3000. He would also have been beaten by a Ferrari, but the F driver
passed under yellow and then ignored four consecutive black flags. One
could observe that the stewards are an emotional bunch when provoked.
I am also happy to say that although Tony tried mightily, he did not
beat his old man's best time at this track. yuk yuk.
Would you believe that there were six TR4's, one TR3, and the TR-based
Tornado at this race? All acquitted themselves very well. I'm also
pretty happy that of the six TR4's, uncle jack built the engines in four
of them.
Wonderful day, wonderful racing, great parties, and it doesn't get much
better than this for FOT.
