bill, that may have answered the "oil" question but does says nothing about the
temp impact on the other componenets. i don't know what you were reading for oil
temp but with our race cars, including some from group 44, we normally ran 190 -
200. when we did the escort pro series we had a deal with mobil 1. incrdeible
stuff.  you could run a dyno test with non-synthetic oil. shutoff the dyno, 
change
to mobil 1 and read horsepower increase on the dyno - just from the oil change.
you might want to go back to valvoline and ask  what other potenetial effects
could result from the increased oil temp.  ted
