Sure, you can bolt a replacement bearing cap right to the block, no problem. If you'd like to have the crank actually be able to turn once reinstalled, you probably want the machine shop to rebore it. If you have several spare caps, try to find the one that comes closest to making a round hole when installed, it will make it easier for the shop to bore it out. mjb. |
