Bill, Dick was one of the people who suggested I go back to stock pistons
and bodies. The carbs he did for me were on the car when I won the
runoffs, and they had stock (unmodified) pistons & bodies. Based on my
experience and the flow bench work Dick did, I strongly recommend this
setup.

Did the carburetors you had Dick Stockton set up not do you any good? Did
you have a stock set of carburetors on your car when you won the run-offs?
Many years ago, I bought a supposidly race prepared set of carburetors from
Ed Wasnewski at the Ledges. As it turned out, I had to swap pieces from my
carburetors with his carburetors to get rid of sloppy linkage and enlarged
wear holes in the casting. My pistons are rounded off in the front.

I go back to stock pistons?
In the late 60's, Bob Stanford found out that he gained another six
horsepower on a dyno by removing rich needles and reinstalling stock
Triumph
needles.
