Just got some preliminary info on an aging race car for sale. A local fellow,
Ray Evans, used to run a Spitfire in the SCCA's Southern Pacific division. My
recollectin is it would be around '68, 69 or so. He did fairly well, getting
some divisional championships with the car. Wonder if the logbook exists?
He's gotten into sprint cars and such for a while, and is thinking about
cleaning out some of the old stuff that's been sitting around, like his Spit,
that just doesn't seem to be making it any further up the priority list.
It is an 1147 car, a modest pile of spares, apparently mostly complete, but the
motor may not actually be assembled. This is sort of second hand info, I hope
to get direct confirmation soon. The asking price for the package is in the
$4,000 to 5,000 range. If interested, I'll get you in touch with him directly.
And if you've five grand to lend to a hopeless addict with too many projects
