Well we just did a dumb thing!! I slid the GT6 block across the bench and put
a deep scratch (.oo6") in the top surface of the block. My question is other
than looks how will this affect the gasket sealing? The scratch is across the
cylinder seal fire ring groove, but not in the groove, and not across the
water passages, then to the out side of the head. Should we quit now and have
the block resurfaced and the fire ring grooves recut or do you think it will
be okay? This is the first time we have rebuilt a GT6 engine. Do they all have
fire ring grooves?
