Hi Fellow FOTers
Adrian Conan Doyle, the son of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, entered a road race
in France called '6 Heures Du Foret,' run near St Etienne in 1957. He
bought a brand new race prepared 2 litre Ferrari 500TRC from Modena
specifically for the race. With no experience ( and very little ability) he
decimated the Ferrari in a series of off road crashes, and after his final
crash, which put him out, there wasn't a straight panel on it. He entered
the race to find out what driving a racing sports car in a road race was
like whilst 'researching for a book'.
My question is, has anyone read a book, or heard of a book, by Adrian
Conan Doyle that includes a motor race? His research nearly cost him his
life several times, and must have hit his pocket even harder. No one seems
to know where his 'Research' ended up.
