Buried below is some additional suggestion about using acids that are buried
in the return message. Not enough coffee to get the e-mail address correct.
Hopefully, my advice about mixing and disposal of acids you may find helpful.

Subject: Re: Acid & Water - Addition Rate of Acid & Waste Disposal is
Important

Good Morning
There is another element involved here that you need to take into
consideration, the rate at which the acid is added to the water. Depending on
the concentration of the acid that you are diluting, you can also have a
violent reaction from adding acid too quickly to water. It is very important
that you slowly add the acid - this will reduce the reaction rate occurring.
(Not to mention lower the probability of accidental splashing.)
I would also strongly suggest that you have some counter measures -
baking soda or similar neutralizing agent - in case there is an accident.
Also have some first aid for yourself in case there is an accident. Having
work in a laboratory as a means of supporting myself through college, I have
seen people get burned even when pouring acid into water because of
accidental splashes. A good set of elbow length acid resistant gloves and eye
protection are essential.
Good Luck
PS - Also remember that you have a hazardous waste when you are done using
the acid. There is probably a household hazardous waste program in your
community. Please do not dump it down the storm drain, it goes directly to
our water ways. I would not recommend dumping it down your sanitary sewer
unless you want to replace it soon.
