Hi foter's:
It's time to update to another class, (a little too much maintenace
on Production cars now that I have hit the half-century mark) so I am
offering twenty years of GP SPITFIRE racing and a complete truckload of
spares for sale. To start:
Complete GP Spitfire, 99 log book (5 events 99...6 in 98)
11147 engine with just two races (about 2 hours)
Accusump
Tilton Dual cockpit adjutable braking system
Fuel cell
Illumenation optical ignition
(Mallory dual point, Crane XR-700 and stock as back ups)
Full (very legal) Cage with buttressed front suspension
Plastic nose, rear fenders and trunk lid
Aluminum Radiator(Corvette, I believe) ..(absloutely never over-heated in
20+ years of racing)
Crane rear leaf spring (why go to coli overs?)
Upper and lower trailing arms (Crane set-up)
Custom header air-borne coated
Complete spare engine, machined ready for assembly (I will probably start
assembly in a few weeks... by the way with this engine, I turned a 1:02.7
at LRP...very respectable!)
Full set of slicks
Full set of Bridgestone Rains
This car was originally built by Bob Wanta, and is a combination of the
Spitfire I purchased from Bob Boig:
Truck load of spares inclue:
3 steel hoods (two dmaged but repairable, one a direct bolt on)
One complete frame and tub assembly (slightly dmaged, but repairable)
8 blocks
8-10 heads
8-10 cranks, all in various conditions
Boxes of camshafts
3 to four complete carb. assemblies.
Two sets of rear axles (one set of old summits)
Boxes of front end parts
Four trnasmissions to include one close ratio box, but unfortunately a
mechanic took them all apart, so need to do a little weeding... (also why
he isn't my mechanic anymore.)
Additional rims to include one complete stock assembly, One complete set of
steel (widened) and hold on.....
one set of original minilites....
The fuel cell bag should be replaced, but other than that the car is turn key!!!
And there are enough parts here to literally build another complete
racer... I even have an extra fuel cell and bucket sear!
Looking for around $5,000 for the lot, WILL NOT PART...
but any desirable offers certainly would not be refused....
Car is in Scituate Massachusetts...
E mail and lets talk...
