If your TR-3A has the early calipers (i.e the pads are retained by hold
down plates which are bolted to the caliper, NOT by pins, like the TR-6)
then you will also need to change the rotors. When they changed to the
caliper which retains the pads with the ling pins, they also reduced the
diameter of the rotor. This happened in 1962, so affected most of the
TR-3B's I have seen and the TR-4's produced after early 1962. I doubt that
you will be able to get the TR-6 calipers on with the large rotors, but if
you do, the rotors will rub on the calipers and wear into them - i.e. don't
do it! Good luck.

Subject: TR4/6 Brake Calipers On TR4
FOT,
I have a set of early TR6 brake calipers rebuilt and on the shelf.
I'd like to put these on my TR3A. Is is as simple as using the TR4/6
caliper
mounting bracket?
Thanks,
Joe
