I have a TV and VCR in my garage (my wife calls it the All Speedvision
Channel), and when it's not running speedvision it's got a limey movie on,
just to keep the cars and bikes from getting homesick. It's a stretch to
reach the VCR, so movies tend to get repeated if they're entertaining. So
last month it was Kenneth Branaugh and ol' king henry. I've got it almost
memorized. Of course my daughter actually does have Henry V memorized, along
with all the other works of Shakespeare. This from a girl who can't remember
where she left her car.
I've been yearning to make the trek to Mid-Ohio, but the two best Northwest
races are at the same time--Seattle for the fourth and the Historics here in
Portland the week after.
I'll be racing the TR3, Peyote doesn't fit me yet--I'm either going to have
to move the pedals or get my legs shortened.
The good news, the TR3 is faster than the dickens all of a sudden. After all
the engine work I did to squeeze some more performance out of it, I finally
found that I _still_ wasn't getting full throttle on the webers. Amazing
what that last 1/8 throttle will do for a car!! I ran it up my dyno hill and
scared the bejezus out of my self (I could sponsor a nice hillclimb in my
driveway). It came on the cam in the middle of a turn that I usually take
flat out, and left an impressive double line of rubber for 50 yards.
Yippee!! There's going to be some surprised Testarossas at PIR.
