Hi all,
I had the pleasant surprise yesterday of finding a photo of my
Southern Cross in a new book "Triumph Sports Cars" by Bill Krause. A nice
little book with lots of color for $12. Unfortunately, although I took the
photo, they goofed and gave the credit to someone else, and got the year
wrong to boot. To make matters worse, the caption reads "...the Southern
Cross looks like an MG on steroids..." Alas. Liberal press and all
that.
The SX engine has just returned from the machine shop where the rear
main oil seal was converted to a lip type. I decided that the vagauries of
the scroll type seal were just too hard to set up given that I also have
babbit bearings and can't expect to keep close tollerances over many miles.
The engine is ready for fresh paint. What should I use for primer under the
engine enamel?
