Hello again, Friends & Friends of Friends
Not everyone got the Excel spreadsheet.............I hope this does not
scramble itself. Try this.
The following information is not as complete as it is on the Excel
Spread Sheet, but perhaps you will get the idea. Those with the asterisk
on the LIST are indicated as those who we expect to be at one or both
events. Some folks have not been contacted or we dont have a clear idea
of their intent. If you know someone and make contact...let me know and
I will update.
At the bottom of the list is BRIC II & VTR information in the form of
Websites/e-mail/phone numbers/and addresses.
This can be pretty useful stuff. The Road America Website is a good one
in any case. A ton of information. VSCDA is the sanctioning body and
some information can be obtained thru this site, also. Application for
BRIC Entry can be obtained thru an 888 number to George Bruggenthies. I
tried the number and it is active. It is for ENTRY only.
The current plan is to paddock along the fenceline between stations 3 &
4 in the South Paddock. Some work has been done to secure this area. On
balance this is a very good place to be. Note: If you plan to camp at
the track your unit must be self contained. A couple of our Triumph
"Friends" are planning to race their Formula Vees in the 35th
Anniversary Race at Road America and we would invite them to join us, if
they wish.
VTR information is pretty basic and includes a couple contact folks in
addition to a website location. The entry form is not up to date on the
website, but should be shortly. We will be meeting with the Minnesota
Triumphs folks on the 31st of January and will pass along anything
interesting in February. They have officially announced the recognition
of Modifed & Competition Triumph in the Concours/Display. TRF is
non-committal about the arrival of the Le Mans TRS and this is
understandable, but one folk has volunteered to tow one of them out in a
closed trailer. The famous Thunderbolt is "on the Wismer/Dentinger
calender". We hope to have one of the late Bill Ames developed specials,
an AMBRO, in attendance. A loose replication a factory rally car,
constructed by Jack Drews, is a given. The first Bill Ames inspired
special owned by Baxter Culver, the PEYOTE, has got a fighting chance to
be there. Bob Kamholtz expects to have his Jamaican done and on display.
Bob Kramer expects to race his TR3 at Road America and then tow it to
Hudson. We have the possibility of one TR4 driven to Road America...like
the old days....and perhaps Mr. Taylor will attend VTR as well.
Special Guest, Paul Richardson called last month and offered to bring a
presentation that includes photos "never seen before". I believe he has
been officially invited by the Minnesota Triumphs at this time. Sadly,
Mike Rothschild, the former factory driver for Triumph at Le Mans &
Sebring, passed away late last year. With great appreciation, his
son-in-law and daughter, are still proceeding with their plans to attend
BRIC II, if not VTR as well.
Enuf for now.
More news next month......................................
