ROAD AMERICA, SNAP-ON ANNOUNCE
CONSTRUCTION OF NEW 'SNAP-ON BRIDGE'
ELKHART LAKE, WI -- Officials for Road America and Snap-on Tools today
announced the construction
of the new "Snap-on Bridge" -- a major element of a 10-year, category
exclusive hand tool sponsorship
agreement between Road America and the Kenosha, WI.-based firm.
Jim Haynes, President of Road America, said that construction of the
60-foot long steel and concrete
structure -- which will span the track at the entrance to the famed RA
Carousel (Turn 9) -- will begin this
fall, with a completion date set for June 1, 1998, prior to the start
of Road America's 1998 schedule of
national events.
"I am extremely pleased to be involved with one of Wisconsin's major
corporations, recognized
world-wide as the leader in the manufacture of automotive tools,"
Haynes said. "Our agreement with
Snap-on includes promotional, entertainment, and signage packages, as
well as exclusive advertising
rights to the new Carousel bridge.
"This bridge will open up an additional 70-acre area, and will allow
parking for more than 1,000 cars. Future
plans include bleachers and motorhome parking for the area. It also
offers a totally new major viewing area
for our fans."
