I'm in Monterey for some of the car events. The 1967 Datsun 1600 must have
gone on the auction block earlier this morning. It's status is listed by Mecum
as "the bid goes on at $8000. " I think this means it did not meet its minimum
reserve and is still available if seller and buyer can agree on a price. I was
at Bonhams pre auction tour sponsored by Classic Car magazine but did not get
over to Mecums. Did get up next to a rare Ferarri scheduled to go on sale at
Bonhams tonight for estimated $50 million... Think I will pass!
