I just purchased a Mr. Gasket import electric fuel pump off eBay.
Unfortunately my computer is screwy and isn't pasting my selection to the note
so I can't link you. It runs 3.5max pressure so I can ditch my regulator,
perfect pressure for all our carbs, SU or otherwise. It was only $40 with
free shipping. I expect this one to be much quieter than the other unless it
was due to how my friend Bill mounted it. I will report here if people are
still interested.

I run one of these:

I also plumbed in a fuel pressure regulator. Since the cheapo (but compact)
fuel pressure regulators are known to be less than accurate, I temporarily
plumbed in a fuel pressure gauge and used it to set the regulator. Then I
removed the gauge.
One advantage of an electric pump like this is that you can use it to prime
the carbs if your car tends to sit for long periods.
Another advantage is that they are cheap enough that you can carry a spare.
Lots easier than trying to rebuild your mechanical pump on the side of the
road.

Subject: [Roadsters] Electric Fuel Pump
Anyone have a specific suggestion for an electric fuel pump for the ('70
2000/SU) Roadster. Yes, I know I can go with an OE unit, but they run around
$150 so I'm considering using an electric. I know it needs to be around 3
psi.
Most of the ones I see with a quick search are high pressure unit for use
with newer EFI systems. I seem to rememember Holley and S-W having suitable
models. I'll need a pressure switch, too, for the power if I go this route.
TIA,
Ron
