Good points Dave! I have a 12v system and EI dizzy. Also VERY good point about the return line. Don't want gas going to mystery spots where you don't want. After owning a few roadsters, I just don't trust the stock pumps anymore - too many of them have the incorrect armature ala P.O. or have a rotten diaphragm. Until I get a car running I always prefer the electric pump. Reasons to bypass the factory fuel system are that the tank leaks, is full or gunk, or else the fuel lines are plugged w/ rust and debris.
