I don't have a working radio in the car. (Too lazy to install the speaker box
and hook it up.) Found I didn't listen to the radio while driving anyway, but
then I'm a COF, so that probably doesn't count for much with you young
whippersnappers. (And how long has it been since you've heard that term?)

Re: [Roadsters] hidden antenna

Such hidden antennas are doomed because the
metal in the bodywork "shields" or
blocks signal, both AM and FM.

One
possibility is a magnet mount antenna like the cops use on undercover cars.
The coax in this case comes out of the magnet base, right over the back deck,
under the carpet, into the back of the radio.

You'd want a 'VHF' type, not
UHF or cellular, since this is nearest in frequency
to the FM band.

One
supplier is Tessco.com but do a Google for 'VHF magnet mount antenna.'.
Maybe
$50.

[Roadsters] hidden antenna

I used a hodrod styled hidden antenna on my 66
SPL311. It didn't work too well.
The unit was mounted horizontally inside the
trunk. Unfortunately, I don't know
if its was a problem with the antenna
location or the radio itself.

The hidden antenna company recommended stashing
the antenna horizontally under
the dash. I think in this application it
should work well.

hi, all.

I'm thinking of using a "hidden" antenna instead of
drilling a hole in the
nicely painted bodywork

anyone using one successfully?
thanks!
