Peter,
As one of the few, if not the only person on this list, who has had the fun of
riding a roadster straight into a tall cement curb at about 35 MPH after being
hit by a lady making a left turn and walking away with only a broken chest
cartillage (?), I can tell you that the shoulder belt is worth the trouble. I
was doing about 50 at the time she hit the left side of my 68 roadster. I can
also tell you that the frame holds up fairly well under such abuse, but there
may be numerous ripples in the floor board. If you want to see the results of

I would like to install dual shoulder belts in Mr. Hyde, but that has not
happened yet. My chiropractor would like to see dual belts in ALL cars. It
would be much better for people if they were not twisted and compressed as
hard as I was at the center of my chest. That was in 1969, and while it does
not bother me now, If I let a chiropractor compress me through the chest it
can still hurt for months afterwards.
