I was hoping that it was a little piece of pooo in something. but I guess
looking on the bright side it could be worse..

Glad to hear the fan clutch is outa there. When people see new things they
have a tendency to notice them more. I
just read that about the fan problem so I clicked on that right away. Same
thing when we bought our ford 250, Didn't
pay any attention to trucks till I got one..same thing with our Red nose..I
see pits all the time now. Crazy huh?

Good luck with your valve job, May it be a simple one.

Thanks
Kemp

I used a full quart of ATF, it smoked heavily for about 20-30 minutes at
2000RPM in my garage, then I took it for an aggressive 10 minute drive. Still
had some residual smoke on the drive, but I think it was mostly gone by the
time I returned. I checked the compression on cylinder #2 when I got back &
it's still only at 60psi. So, I guess I'll have to start on the valves...

Regarding the 7 blade fan, both my roadsters have them, no fan clutch though.
I know they're noisier than the 4 blade model, but they do keep the engine
cool.

As far back as 1975, I don't think I've ever seen a Roadster fan clutch that
worked.

Replaced my 7-bladed fan with an electric a few years back. No more takeoff
thrust above 3000 RPM....
