[Roadsters] body/tank pads

I know this has been cussed and discussed but I cannot find what I saved 
regarding this topic, so..........

Now that my back is on the mend, I am going to replace my gas tank with a fresh 
one. 

What is the stuff called that people use for body pads and is it the same thing 
recommended for tank strap pads? Does some one have an online source?
