If you are really interested in actual(what is "actual"?) (+-10 psi), buy a
cheapee $15 gauge from Auto Zone or O'Reilly, make up the fittings, run the
line, remove it later. My MG was sorta close, my Mustang was, eh eh....My
F350 was close to "normal". If it don't seize, probably OK.....oh, damn, did
I actually type all that? My apologies, in advance....

Subject: [Roadsters] 1600's oil pressure

I've been driving these little cars for 30+ years. Not an expert, just too
cheep to pay high dollar mechanics.
As for oil pressure at idle, the gauges are not accurate enough to register
what little there is. Some where in the past I read that the guages not
reading at idle was normal as long as the pressure came right up when the
RPM's came up.
The lower idle with a larger alternator may be enough to make this apparent.
This is summer and much hotter (here it is close to hell). During the summer
I
typically run 20-50. I did this with one 2000, and now it has 200K+ and the
engine is still strong (the rest of the car is crap ('orange' for those who
know).
My penny's worth.
