I've heard of it being done before, but why? Maybe just to get you back
home after you find the steering box dry, but not to keep driving. Think of
the concerqueces if the steering box suddenly locks up on a drive through
your favorite curves?
Do yourself a favor, fix it, or replace it.

Has anyone heard of putting in lightweight grease in the steering gearbox to
replace the standard gear oil?
This would certainly solve any gear box leaks.... Does anyone have any
experience with this and can confirm longevity of a gearbox using this
modification of lubrication?
